Yes, I did this on our own site, Pixels Corp, before recommending it to clients. We’re based in Udaipur and serve India, the US and Australia, and a lot of our enquiries start as a spoken question, like ‘how much does digital marketing cost in India?’
Voice search is used by roughly one in five people worldwide, and what shaped my approach was how voice answers work. Around 40% of voice answers come from featured snippets, and the typical spoken answer is only about 30 words long. So the goal was to write short, direct answers that can win the snippet and be read aloud.
I made five changes. I rewrote our FAQ so each heading is a question worded the way people say it, with the answer in the first sentence or two. The cost answer opens straight with numbers: SEO from ₹15,000 a month, social media from ₹10,000, PPC from ₹8,000 plus ad spend. I added FAQ schema. I cleaned up our Google Business Profile and made sure our Udaipur address and phone number match everywhere. I improved mobile speed, because most voice searches happen on phones. And I set our robots directives to allow large snippets.
Voice traffic can’t be separated in Search Console, so I measured it through question-style queries: how, what, cost and near me. In the weeks since the changes, we gained around 10,000 more impressions and about 2,000 more clicks. It’s still early, since SEO normally takes three to six months to fully show, so I’m continuing to track it and will review at three and six months.
