Danielle Claroni has spent 30 years helping people buy and sell homes, with much of her career centered in Greenwich, Connecticut, where she has lived since 1979. Today, she is a Senior Global Real Estate Advisor with Sotheby’s International Realty, serving clients in Connecticut and New York while expanding her practice into Vero Beach, Florida. In both markets, she works alongside trusted local partners to help clients navigate their real estate needs.

Danielle’s background is distinctive. Raised in the hotel industry across several countries, she developed an international outlook and fluency in Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese. Over the years, she has been named Greenwich Realtor of the Year, become a certified real estate Ninja, and joined Global Equestrian Advisors. RealTrends has recognized her among the top 1% of agents nationally, and she has been featured in Forbes and Fortune.

Yet when clients explain why they continue working with her, they often point to something simpler: she answers the phone, communicates promptly, and looks out for their best interests. That steady reliability sits at the center of how she works.

The Experience That Shaped Her Approach

Danielle has always worked in sales, but her move into real estate was shaped by a personal experience. Her first encounter with a realtor left her disappointed, and the experience stayed with her.

“That motivated me to become a realtor so that at least the people I worked with would not have to go through what I went through,” she explained.

That memory continues to influence her approach. When training new agents, she emphasizes the importance of their role in the lives of the people who rely on them. For Danielle, real estate is about more than completing transactions; it is about earning trust and ensuring clients feel supported throughout the process.

What Clients Value Most

When asked about her strengths, Danielle points to the feedback she receives from the people she serves.

“What my clients say about me is that I really do look out for their best interests and they trust me to do that,” she said. “They say that I always answer the phone and communicate with them on time, and they feel valued and in good hands.”

She also recognizes that effective communication means understanding each client’s expectations. While she strives to adapt to individual preferences, she understands that clients have different needs when it comes to timing and responsiveness. For Danielle, recognizing those differences is part of the responsibility of serving clients well.

Buying in a Market With Little Inventory

For many of Danielle’s clients, the biggest challenge is finding a home in a market with limited inventory. Her goal is to help them find the right property without stretching beyond what makes sense financially.

Her first piece of advice is patience. “Be patient; the right house will come along. If you lose a house, it was not meant to be,” she said. “I have never had a client be disappointed in the end when they finally got a house.”

She also encourages buyers to reconsider the idea of a perfect home. If a property offers most of the features they want, is in a suitable location, and fits their budget, some details can be changed over time. A slightly longer drive to town or a different lot size may be worth considering if the home meets their most important needs. Even a property that needs renovation can deserve a second look, as buyers may spend less upfront and create a home that better suits them.

Her third piece of advice is to keep the personal value of homeownership in perspective. While buyers naturally want to make a sound financial decision, Danielle encourages them to remember what a home means beyond its price.

“Remember, though you don’t want to overpay, you are buying a home, the place where you will come for peace,” she said. “Don’t look at it as an investment. It is your home.”

New Tools Behind the Work

Danielle’s company was recently purchased by Compass International Holdings, and she is excited about the technology accompanying the change.

“It will make it easier for me to work smarter and do a better job for my clients,” she said.

For an agent whose reputation rests on being accessible and responsive, tools that improve efficiency can help her devote more time and attention to the people she serves.

Looking Ahead in Vero Beach

Danielle has expanded her work into Vero Beach while continuing to serve her established clients in Connecticut and New York. She hopes to help more of her existing clients navigate the Vero Beach market, where several already have ties, while building relationships in her new market through trusted local partners.

Outside of real estate, Danielle enjoys horses, reading, and music. Professionally, she remains focused on helping clients navigate their individual needs, whether they are buying, selling, relocating, or investing. As she expands her presence in Vero Beach, she continues to bring the same principles that have guided her three decades in real estate: clear communication, patience, and a commitment to putting her clients’ interests first.
