TechBBQ has returned after having a digital-only event in 2020 due to the pandemic. Held on September 16-17 in Copenhagen, Denmark, it’s one of Europe’s biggest tech conferences working to bring entrepreneurs together to improve their craft and network. Along with its infamous BBQ and craft beer on tap, it has various other content for newcomers and veterans alike. This year’s news: TechBBQ plans to be both digital and in-person.
Before TechBBQ, there is Re: Mind, a free event on June 11th to help entrepreneurs with their mental health. Its emphasis is on how to be more resilient, help with their mental well-being, and also connect with others who are struggling.
TechBBQ brings Nordic leaders to one location. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a tech lover, or a journalist, you will learn something new and do so in a conference that is energetic and entertaining. It describes itself as “Low risk, high-reward,” helping participants connect with others in a space without a high price ticket.
What’s in a name?
TechBBQ is an event with a name that you think is figurative, but it’s literal as well. Outdoors in what makes for a grand reception, there is an actual barbecue, complete with a beer tent and a place to meditate. For entrepreneurs, the event is not just a place to learn, but a place to party and celebrate. For many, the year 2020 still needs a good event to wash it down with, and TechBBQ is one such event.
TechBBQ was founded by several Danish entrepreneurs, including Klaus Nyengaard, who co-founded construction software Geniebelt, as well as the co-founder of Growth Tribe Academy, Pia Elmegard.
The conference has various projects to look at. One is ImpactSeries, which includes video content about startups who are working to bring green energy to the mainstream. Another is Healthtech, which covers telehealth apps and startups.
The deets
TechBBQ’s tickets are not yet on sale, but one can sign up for email notifications for when they go on sale. That way, you can be the first to know when they go on sale so you can grab a ticket whenever possible and attend the event this way.
We don’t yet know what the prices are for 2021, but in 2019, the tickets had three tiers. First, there was the Early Bird ticket, which focused on startups. The ticket gave startups full attendance privileges for €79.
The second was their Investor ticket, which was for investors who want to find startups with potential. The investor pass also gave full access to the event, but was more expensive at €499. The Investor ticket also includes exclusive events and lounges for investors as well.
General attendees also had tickets and had to pay the same price as the investors. These cover people who are neither entrepreneurs nor investors, but want to attend the convention for other reasons.
It’s safe to assume there might be separate tickets for the digital and the physical event, as well as tickets for those (overachievers) who want both.
