Propelo, a California-based computer software startup, has raised $12 million in Series A funding to boost engineering efforts by providing actionable insights via its AI-driven platform.

The funding round was led by Decibel Partners with participation from existing investors such as Fika Ventures, Eniac Ventures, and Fathom Capital. The capital brings the total funding raised by the startup to $16 million. Dan Nguyen-Huu, Partner at Decibel Partners, referred to the funding round by stating:

“In a hybrid/remote work first world, it is critically important to take steps to operate the software teams efficiently and effectively. Propelo’s ability to analyze the entire DevOps tool stack, provide predictive insights and drive improvement through workflow automation is a DevOps game-changer for modern engineering teams.”

Propelo was founded in 2019 with the mission to change how engineering teams develop and deliver software, improving efficiency via intelligent automated action. The startup’s platform connects more than 40 popular DevOps to gather data and provide actionable data. Nishant Doshi, Propelo’s Founder & CEO, said about this mission:

“In my previous role as VP Engineering at Palo Alto Networks, my job was to ensure that we made sound decisions and drove efficiencies in every aspect of our software delivery pipeline. One needs to think about all stakeholders in product creation including security, product management, and support”

With an increasing number of DevOps tools being used by engineering teams, which also are transitioning to hybrid work, team leaders have struggled to adapt and sustain their teams’ effectiveness. Propelo is aiming to support development teams to succeed under these changing conditions by assembling an all-star team of advisors including include Michael Stoppelman, Former SVP of Engineering at Yelp; Rinki Sethi, CISO at Twitter; Naveen Zutshi, CIO at Palo Alto Networks; and David Schneider, Former President at ServiceNow, to apply its technology in the areas that matter.
