The suit is back, from bold and nontraditional to cool and classic

These days, “the suits” doesn’t refer to stodgy C-suite attire. Menswear is taking fresh, new directions. Be bold and experiment with statement-making prints, including extreme pinstripes, bold checks, and oversized plaids. Play with volume, pairing a wide-leg silhouette with a double-breasted jacket. Traditionalist? Follow the lead of Michael Andrews, founder and CEO of Michael Andrews Bespoke, and stick with a classic shape, but make color the star. He notes, “Men are increasingly comfortable with alternative colors. They’re no longer limited to just navy and gray.” His offerings currently include royal blue, maroon, and shades of dark brown. Whatever your taste, nothing will ever feel more put-together than a suit.

With its structured shoulders, nipped waist, and wide legs, this look was inspired by the 1940s.
